InterAction 2024

Student Harvey Bryan is enthusiastic about his experience over the summer

Last summer, I had the privilege of serving and learning at InterAction France as an Animef (leader in training). It was an amazing experience and such a blessing to be able to see the campers learn about Jesus and enjoy all manners of games, sports, and challenges together.

The theme was the Olympics, so we were visited each day by some heroes of the games as the campers took part in challenges to win back the medals that had been “stolen” at the beginning of the week! The bilingual nature of the camp was incredible, and it was such a joy to see kids from all over Europe come together and learn more about Jesus in their own language but also pick up a bit of a new language or practice what they already knew. It was inspirational to see the way that the leaders cared and led on the camp, and we were treated to some incredible acting and skits at dinner time! Across the week we were looking at the Exodus and how Jesus is our exodus and saves us from our slavery and captivity.

As Animefs our job was to make sure the behind-the-scenes work was complete which involved lots of cleaning and washing up. We enjoyed serving and picking up some more French on the way, as well as getting stuck in with some of the activities and leading some games. We had our own Bible studies and seminars in the afternoons which were really useful. It was an awesome week with some incredible leaders and fellow Animefs who made it such a fun and welcoming experience! I would definitely recommend.
