Pastoral couple Jonathan & Rachel Vaughan provide an update
The last few months have seen some changes in our congregation: an English family with two small children, who’ve been faithful members of church for the last seven years, moved back to London. Please pray for them as they settle into a new church, and that they would continue to use their gifts for God’s kingdom. We also welcomed a handful of new people, including a young man who knew nothing about Christianity but started seeking God during a difficult time in his life. Praise God for those who have joined us; please pray that we’d have chances to get to know them better and encourage them in their faith.
We continue to maintain close links with the nearby Perspectives church in Clichy. On 6th October we had a joint service with them for the baptism of an Algerian couple. The two came to faith recently, and a Christian friend put them in touch with Cardinet church. As they live in Clichy, we encouraged them to join the new church that was starting there; for a time, they attended both Cardinet and Clichy. Praise God for his work in their lives and pray that He would bless and guide them in their life together.
For our weekend away in September, we invited pastor Philip Moore to come as the speaker. He asked if he could bring some people from the church plant he’s leading in the Latin Quarter of central Paris, a group of nearly 20! The weekend was a great blessing for both churches: a chance to hear God speak to us through the book of Isaiah, to meet and enjoy fellowship with Christians from another church, to take a break from the busyness of Paris life, and benefit from the peaceful woodland setting of the retreat centre. Praise God for this reminder of His holiness and His grace to us in Jesus and pray that we’d heed His call to share His good news with a needy world.
